Task 5.3 Establishing grassland visiting training programs to promote grassland knowledge sharing across Member States (M1-M36)

Task-lead: WLR in collaboration with GLZ, Teagasc, RHEA, IDELE, APCA, LWK, UGOE, INRA, AWE, SLU, LTO, CNR, PULS, WIR & CA Vosges

The objective of this task is to create a visiting training program that will allow at least 5 young farmers, advisors, researchers the possibility to visit grassland centres internationally and work collaboratively on grassland related topics, which mutually benefit the participating countries. There are varying levels of expertise on grasslands between countries. At EU level there is no program for the sharing of grassland knowledge across member states. This task would set about to establish a new network to create such a structure. It would start on the basis of identifying host institutions that could allow farmers, young farmers, advisors and researchers the possibility of visiting and adding expertise in grassland to their skills base. In time it is maybe possible to establish a Marie Currie type fellowship to continuously promote this practise across Europe. To establish this network within Inno4Grass, it is envisaged to set up at least 3 training periods between the organisations involved in Inno4Grass. This may include that personnel involved in this program will visit collaborating institutions to encourage the spirit and goodwill of this task.
